Les Trois Gros Bistro

It is inevitable to mention the origin of its name when Les Trois Gros Bistro is referred to. This restaurant is operated by three brothers of a Huang family whose ancestors were Hakkas. They were born in Vietnam and moved to France for living when they were teenagers, where they had been working in the catering industry for several decades. At the beginning of 2004, they opened this western restaurant here. I came here in a leisured afternoon and only came across the youngest brother Huang Zhiyun, a Mr. Goodness who put up an improvisational performance of cooking European coffee in ancient style with a coffee maker designed by himself. The technique has been lost for a long time. If you are lucky enough, you could appreciate the whole process of Mr. Huang making coffee with your girlfriend/boyfriend. It’s really distinctive and interesting.

If you are couples who come here to taste authentic French cooking for the first time, the master will recommend you three most famous French dishes: goose liver, snail and duck breast. By the way, they will give you delicate snacks made in the restaurant for free, and furthermore, if you have a happy talk with the master, he (Mr. Huang) may present you with Arabian wine heart chocolates made by himself, so don’t miss it if you are desserts-loving girls.

Back Street Restaurant

It is a pity to visit the Back Street only for food and everyone who has been here will agree with this point. Back Street Restaurant is a place with gracious tone where you could feel the glamour of its atmosphere even without tasting the food. It is a mild-bar-style restaurant for you to linger for even longer time. So if you are an X-generation young couple, just pay a visit to the Back Street as you will definitely fall in love with the passion hidden in its cold metal decoration.

It feels like visiting a modernized high-tech laboratory when you enter into the hall. The layout here is not luxurious, but simple to the extent of artistic level which is reflected through its plain cement-made inner wall, cold-color chairs and tables. The restaurant has two floors in glass structure and its lamps are so perfectly designed that they deliver a sense of mild softness. Every table here is just like a bench for displaying goblets and tableware that look as clear and clean as artworks. In such a special restaurant, you could taste delicate Chinese and Japanese food as well as European-style western cooking. Delicacy is a selling point of this restaurant.
