Many foods can produce a certain influence on norepinephrine and hydroxytryptamin in the brain. Bananas contain a substance that can assist the brain in its generation of hydroxytryptamin, which not only promotes wellbeing and calmness; it can also even reduce pain and may significantly reduce bad moods through inducing hormones.
    因此,狂躁和抑郁症患者以及其他心情不好的人应多吃些香蕉,以使大脑产生足够的5-羟色胺,从而减轻其悲观压抑的程度,甚至使不佳的情绪自然消失。
Therefore, manic or depressive patients and others subject to bad moods should eat more bananas in order to generate enough 5 – HT in the brain so as to reduce the degree of its depressive effects, and even dispel negative feelings by natural means.

The color of food can indicate not only to its nutritional value, but also its effect upon the regulation of moods. Purple foods are amongst the best in terms of these effects. The skin of purple grapes contains anti-hypertensive substances and grape juice can increase vitamin E and antioxidant content in plasma.
